Many eco4 plus are looking for ways to cut their energy bills and make their home more efficient. In order to do this, it is recommended that they invest in loft insulation and cavity wall insulation. This will not only help to reduce their energy bills, but it will also help to reduce carbon emissions which in turn will help to slow down global warming.
The UK has some of the least energy efficient homes in Europe and so it is important that we do what we can to improve them. The government has recently released the ECO+ scheme which will help households with the cost of insulating their homes.
Eco4 Boiler Grants: Fueling Green Comfort and Energy Efficiency in Every Home
This scheme builds on the existing ECO4 scheme and expands on it. Basically, it will allow households to receive a grant towards the cost of installing energy efficiency improvements like loft and cavity wall insulation. To be eligible for this, you must live in a home that is in council tax bands A-D in England or A-E in Scotland and have an EPC rating below a D. In addition, you must either be receiving a means-tested benefit, be living in social housing, or be referred to the scheme by a local authority.
The government is also working on a new scheme, which will be branded as the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS). This will be an energy supplier led scheme that will offer partially subsidised energy efficiency measures like insulation to households that are not eligible for ECO4. This is expected to launch later this year, around Autumn.
